THE WEDDING

Our Wedding Day

Saturday, 25 October 2025

The Crown
Private Estate
Glencoe Road, Queenstown, New Zealand

Ceremony at 3:00pm

Drinks, dinner and dancing to follow

Dress Code

Strictly all black, Black Tie

We ask all our guests to wear their best, all black, Black Tie attire.

Ladies, think sleek black ball gowns, elegant black floor length dresses, or your most stylish all black, Black Tie ensemble.
Gentlemen, it's time to break out the tuxedos and bow ties. Men can wear white shirts (ie you DO NOT need to wear black shirts), but your suit should be black. Kilts allowed for the Scots.

We have curated a guest look book below to provide some outfit inspiration.

The weather in Queenstown will be cool in the evenings. We will do everything we can to keep you warm but we do recommend you check the weather before the big day and to bring a coat along with you.

Please note the venue is largely outdoors and the ceremony and cocktail hour will be on grass. We will have heel stoppers available for high heels but ladies, a block or chunkier shoe may be better under foot.

A note on children

Although we love your little ones, this will be an adults only celebration.

For those of you with newborns and infants, we understand they are dependent on you so please reach out to us and let us know if you need to bring them along, so that we can ensure that we make appropriate arrangements for you.

For those with children out of the newborn stage, we kindly ask that you leave the little ones at home for an 18+ celebration.

Queenstown has a wonderful group of babysitters who can assist to care for your precious darlings, while Mum & Dad let their hair down for the night. You can find a link with details below.

Getting there

We have arranged transport to and from the wedding venue for all of our guests.

Bus pick up and drop off locations will be the InterCity Bus Stop Queenstown on Athol Street in the Town Centre and Goldfield Heights, on Frankton Road, in front of the Sherwood Hotel. We have provided maps below for ease.

All guests must travel on the bus to and from the wedding - no private vehicles (incl Ubers and Taxis) are permitted to travel to the venue.

If you would like to drive part of the journey to a bus pick up point, we would recommend driving to the Sherwood Hotel to park, where you can then hop on the bus at the Goldfield Heights stop out the front of the hotel for the last leg of the journey.

Please check back on the website closer to the date for exact pick-up and departure times for each location.

The bus will return guests to the same locations after the wedding.

Travelling to Queenstown

A few of our favourite things

Why not make a trip of it!

We have loved hearing about some of our guests plans to extend their stay in NZ around our wedding. Here are some of our favourite things to do, see and eat (obviously) in and around Queenstown!

Ayrburn

Number 1 on our list for a reason. We cannot get enough of this place. We recommend trying every single one of their venues, and once you have done them all once, go again. Seriously.

Fergburger/ Fergbaker/ Fergsbar

If you haven't been to Queenstown, you cannot leave without enjoying an iconic Fergburger.
Grab a burger, or coffee and pie from the bakery if thats more your style, and sit by the lake and soak in the views. Go early or prepare to wait.

Breakfast at Odd Saint

Garlic & herb rosti of Sophie's dreams. Book ahead or walk in and enjoy this quaint little eatery. J'adore.

Pedros House of Lamb

Our absolute FAVOURITE take away spot. Lamb & potatoes - as if you need anything else.
Order ahead, take home and enjoy.

Mora Wines & Restaurant

Some of the best food and wine in Queenstown. Breakfast, lunch or cellar door. Reservations are necessary.

For the Wine Lovers

Amisfield, Peregrine, Kinross, Mt Rosa .. actually just anywhere in Central Otago.
There are a range of tours through the Gibbston Valley - hop on hop off bus tours, biking tours or private tours.
Pick up a Central Otago wine map at the airport. We have linked one similar below.

Onsen Hot Pools

Cannot recommend an hour in a bubbling onsen overlooking the Shotover River highly enough. If you don't want to take our word for it, check out their instagram.

Spots will fill up so we recommend booking ahead to avoid missing out.

Biking in Arrowtown

Push power or e-power, biking through Arrowtown and through to Gibbston Valley is unmissable. Finish up with a beer at Fork & Tapp, or an icecream at Patagonia.

Nevis Bunjee
For the thrill seekers. The highest bunjee in NZ. Dom has done it, Sophie has not.

Shotover Jet
Thrill seekers continued. This is fun. Take a beanie and gloves - its arctic down there!

For the hikers
Queenstown Hill (5.5km return, accessible from Queenstown) or the Ben Lomond Track (full day) are our picks from town. If you are up for a challenge and are heading to Wanaka, Roys Peak is a challenging trek but the view from the top is the best reward.

For the Golfers
Jacks Point is quite possibly the most picturesque golf course you have ever seen. Millbrook is a regular host of the NZ Open and each hole is more breathtaking than the last. Book the 'Coronet' course for that one.
Book ahead for all courses. Club and cart hire available.

Links to our faves below. We have also included a link to Queenstown's tourism page because it quite literally has it all.

New Zealand Entry Requirements

NZ Traveller Declaration

Everyone travelling into New Zealand must complete a declaration, including New Zealand passport holders.

The earliest you can submit your declaration is 24 hours before you start your trip to New Zealand. It needs to be submitted by the time you reach passport control in New Zealand.

If you do not complete your declaration before your flight, you can do it upon arrival in Queenstown Airport.

Getting around Queenstown

Hire a car, or simply rely on taxis and Ubers

Queenstown is super well connected and has easy to navigate public transport options, as well as rental vehicles, Ubers and taxis. There is something for everyone.

For the sake of convenience, we always hire a car in advance of our arrival. With plenty of rental outlets at Queenstown International Airport, you simply land, grab the keys and get going. If you do choose to drive yourself around, be very mindful of the parking signs and meters. They are heavily patrolled and enforced. There are also a number of roadworks heading into town. It has been this way for 8+ years... Rome wasn't built in a day.

There are also plenty of taxi companies available. If this is your preference, we recommend spending some time at the airport browsing the brochure wall and picking up a couple of pamphlets or business cards. There is a taxi rank at the airport too so if you get lucky and have a great driver, it is worthwhile asking for their card. They could just be your very own chauffeur for the trip!

Uber works just as easily as it does at home.

Queenstown Weather

What to expect in the Spring-time!

We are obviously manifesting a perfect spring day but unpredictable weather is inevitable in Queenstown.

According to our google sources, temps generally range from 7 - 25 degrees in Spring, but can also get down as low as 2 -5, so we definitely recommend packing layers and would suggest that you bring a coat along with you to our events.

For our Scottish relatives, you may need to pack a fan.
